Benson Cheung is a screen composer creating hybrid cinematic orchestration and ambient music for visual media. This album includes four tracks, each written for a specific gameplay function: exploration, boss combat, menu navigation, and dialogue.
This project marks Benson’s first game music album, making it an opportunity to explore the fundamentals of interactive scoring. Each track was approached as a separate design problem, focusing on how music can support different gameplay states and player experiences.
The music was composed to match the reference game’s cute and adventurous aesthetic, with experimentation in new synthesizer sounds and textures. Through this process, Benson explored different approaches to pacing, tone, and function across multiple game contexts, making the project a valuable learning experience in game audio composition.
